Drake has been keeping busy in quarantine, releasing Tik Tok hits with isolation-centric video clips, as well as squashing beef and shooting his shot with Rihanna on IG Live. Thankfully, he’s also been using the Instagram feature to share new music.
Last night he joined Mark from his OVO camp to play some under the radar cuts from around the world before playing some of his own unreleased tracks. He played a new version of his previously leaked track “Not Around” saying, “People keep asking me to play ‘Not Around.’ New version coming on the album… proper version.”
He also played “Pain 1993,” a previously leaked collaboration with Playboi Carti, which will likely appear on Carti’s forthcoming album, Whole Lotta Red. Drake also premiered an “alternate” version of “Life is Good” featuring Future and another unreleased song possibly titled “Rollin,” as well as sharing his verse from an upcoming Sosa Geek and Fivio collab.
He also reaffirmed that the new album was dropping soon. “Album’s on the way, about to slap head tops out.”
During the Live session, Drake also made the claim that Toosie Slide wasn’t specifically made for Tik Tok success saying, “I didn’t know it (Toosie Slide) was gonna be a dance song like that but it is what it is, we just having fun, getting warmed up.”
