Irv Gotti’s brother, Chris Lorenzo, states the Murder Inc. mogul passed as a result of a “massive hemorrhagic stroke.” Chris also states Gotti’s health condition results from never going to a doctor.
Pulling up on the 2way Podcast, Chris stated Gotti died as he was eating Chinese food and playing poker. Initial reports of Gotti’s death noted a deadly combination of a stroke and diabetes.

Irv Gotti’s funeral brought together all of his friends and collaborators. Among others, JAY-Z, Ja Rule, and Ashanti attended the NYC Celebration of Life.
The funeral included a message from Ja Rule, punctuated with “I love you my brother, see you when I get there.”
Additional Hip-Hop luminaries in the building were Fat Joe, Hype Williams, Angie Martinez, Benny Boom, Steve Stoute, Lloyd, Charli Baltimore, Vita, and the Ruff Ryders crew.
According to TMZ Hip-Hop, the service was held at the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral Church of New York and followed by a precession through Queens.
