Q-Tip found the very best way to celebrate his 50th birthday over the weekend. Rocking a bright red shirt and slapping the bass, the rapper posted a video in which he shared some exciting news with fans. “Message from da Abstract,” read the scrawl on the screen, followed by “I pray u and ur loved ones are good n healthy.”
Continuing the funk jam, he thanked fans for all the birthday love, but teased that he had something very important to share. “3 albums” he wrote with a trio of lightning bolts. “AlGoRhythms, Riotdiaries and the long-promised The Last Zulu appear to be the three that are on top. “Thank u god willing I will get with u soon,” he wrote of releasing the follow-up to 2009’s Kamaal the Abstract.
There was no additional information on the release dates for the albums; a spokesperson for Q-Tip could not be reached for comment at press time.
