The North Face is a bonafide outerwear giant and now, it’s taking on the world of fashion.
The brand’s winter 2024 collection, a Korea exclusive, features all the usual suspects: Nuptse puffers, hooded jackets, and other outerwear we associate with The North Face.
And while the collection focuses on these classics, there are also unexpected fashion-over-function moments scattered throughout. Take the tiny, satchel-like purse that can be worn in hand or over the shoulder. Or the reflective zip-up that’s perfect for Instagram photo dumps but less so for stormy weather.
This collection isn’t the first time The North Face has made some fashion-forward decisions.
Just recently, the winterwear label collaborated with SKIMS on a technical ski apparel line that was every bit as monochromatic as it was form-fitting.
If teaming up with fashion’s biggest shapewear brand wasn’t enough proof that The North Face is on the sartorial up-and-up, take a look at some of the brand’s higher-end collaborations.
That monogrammed Gucci North Face Puffer lives in my head rent-free. And who could forget that skull-filled BAPE team-up? Iconic.
As a category, winterwear may not be sexy or stylish in the traditional sense, but The North Face is hellbent on making us reconsider. I’d say they make a pretty good case.
