Nav, Gunna & Travis’ ‘Turks’ Takes Top 10 Debut on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs

Hip-hop stars Nav, Gunna and Travis Scott combine forces to score a top 10 debut on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Their collaboration, “Turks”, opens at No. 9 on the chart dated April 11.

“Turks,” released March 27 via XO/Republic Records, traces its strong start to 20.1 million U.S. streams in the week ending April 2, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The sum results in a No. 4 debut on both the all-genre Streaming Songs and R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs charts.

Though streaming was largely responsible for the entrance, the collaboration also made a presence in the sales market and on radio. “Turks” sold 5,000 downloads in the week ending April 2 and bows at No. 11 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales list, while it also clocked 796,000 in format audience (in the week ending April 5), below the cutoff for the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.

With “Turks,” Nav earns his first top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and easily surpasses his prior best showing. Previously, he topped out at No. 25 as a featured act on Lil Baby and Gunna’s “Off White Vlone,” in October 2018. As a lead act, his highest result came through “Wanted You,” featuring Lil Uzi Vert, which rose to No. 27 in December 2017.

For Gunna, “Turks” secures a fifth top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, while its No. 9 start matches his best debut position. The Atlanta rapper also opened at the same rank with the Lil Baby collab “Never Recover,” which also features Drake, in October 2018.

Travis Scott, meanwhile, uses “Turks” to land a 10th top 10 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, all of which except 2015’s “Antidote” took the efficient route and debuted directly in the top 10. Among them, two have entered the list at No. 1 – 2018’s “ZeZe,” a Kodak Black tune featuring Offset and Scott and the following year’s “Highest in The Room.”

Elsewhere, “Turks” enters at No. 5 on Hot Rap Songs and No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and claims the week’s highest debut on both charts.
