The Chicago Film XLerator, a Creative Cypher Project, is a content lab dedicated to discovering fresh BIPOC talent and expanding the entertainment industry’s creative pipeline. The Chicago Film XLerator has created a vast roster of talented executives, producers, and performers, with executive mentors from big businesses such as Bron Studios, Netflix, BET, HBOMax, Univision, and more. Through his entertainment firms Creative Cypher and Pryor Holdings, founder Troy Pryor advocates for bringing undiscovered minority talent to mainstream media channels.
Kimberly Michelle Vaughn and her project Hindsight were named the organization’s third cycle winner on Thursday, January 19th, 2022. She will get a $50,000 reward to go toward her movie as the winner of the Chicago Film XLerator program, as well as the opportunity to work with leaders from large companies to help develop and streamline the film. Chicago Filmmakers, BTEC, Camera Ambassador, and Periscope Post and Audio are among the sponsors.
