Dvsn earns its first top five effort on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart as A Muse in Her Feelings debuts at No. 5 on the list dated May 2. The set earned 18,000 equivalent album units in the week ending April 23, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The R&B duo, comprised of singer Daniel Daley and producer Paul “Nineteen85” Jefferies, claims their third album on the chart. Their maiden entry, Sept. 5th, peaked at No. 7 in 2016, while Morning After reached No. 6 the following year.
Muse concurrently scores the duo’s best showing on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart as well, landing at No. 13. Sept. 5th topped out at No. 17 on that list, while Morning After achieved a No. 22 high. Similar career highs occur on the Billboard 200: Muse’s No. 23 arrival easily outdoes the peaks of Sept. 5th (No. 133) and Morning (No. 38).
Muse contains the previously released single “No Cryin,” featuring Future, which became the pair’s first entry on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart in February when it debuted and peaked at No. 36. “Cryin” also reached No. 50 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay list that month, the duo’s second visit there. It followed 2018’s “Mood,” which climbed to No. 26 on the radio ranking.
For followers of the OVO collective, Jefferies’ name may ring a bell. The producer has frequently worked on many tracks for the brand’s chief, Drake, in the past five years. Among the successes, Jefferies has production credit on four of Drake’s 37 top 10 hits on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100: “Don’t Matter to Me,” featuring Michael Jackson (No. 9), “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” featuring Majid Jordan (No. 4), “Hotline Bling” (No. 2), and the 10-week No. 1 “One Dance,” featuring WizKid and Kyla.
