The second edition of Saturday Night Live at Home on April 25 featured a variety of cameos and performances by music stars such as DJ Khaled, Bad Bunny and Miley Cyrus. Remote pop-ins by celebrities have become the new norm on SNL ever since the coronavirus outbreak has pushed society indoors.
Cyrus served as the latest SNL at Home musical guest, delivering a stripped-down version of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” with producer Andrew Watt on the acoustic guitar. The 27-year-old pop star followed in the footsteps of Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who covered Bob Dylan’s classic song “Shelter From the Storm” during SNL‘s first at-home special on April 11.
Elsewhere during Saturday’s show, Latin trap sensation Bad Bunny made a hilarious cameo during a skit featuring SNL‘s Kenan Thompson impersonating baseball player David “Big Papi” Ortiz. During the sketch, Thompson’s Ortiz is hosting an at-home cooking tutorial when Bad Bunny (playing salesman “Big Bunny”) pops in to hawk some oversized cookware and sweatpants.
A heavily bearded DJ Khaled and saxophone-playing Fred Armisen also made a cameos during a new iteration of the long-running skit “What Up With That,” hosted by Thompson’s soulful Diondre Cole. Khaled didn’t get much air time during the sketch, but he did manage to get in his signature line: “Another One.”
