This condition was uncovered after a period of intense fatigue during the recording of his upcoming album, Eargasm. Initially perceived as burnout, medical tests, including blood work, led to the discovery of this recessive genetic syndrome, which had previously gone undiagnosed in his family line.
Interestingly, Power’s grandfather also had Waardenburg syndrome, though it was never medically confirmed due to limited access to healthcare during his lifetime. His grandfather’s eyes similarly transitioned from brown to blue over the years, a phenomenon now understood as part of the syndrome’s manifestation.
Power’s eyes initially shifted to a pale white hue before settling into their current light blue shade. Despite the dramatic change, doctors have confirmed that the condition has not adversely affected his overall health or vision.
