Soulja Boy Testifies, Denies Serious Assault and Kidnapping Allegations

Soulja Boy has some serious legal proceedings going on. He appeared in court this week to testify in an ongoing civil trial where he faces allegations of sexual assault, kidnapping, and workplace misconduct.

ICYMI, his case stems from a 2021 lawsuit filed by an unnamed woman who claims she worked as his personal assistant and endured mistreatment.

Now get this, the accuser alleges sexual battery, assault, false imprisonment, emotional distress, unpaid wages, and a hostile work environment. However, during his testimony, Soulja Boy—whose legal name is DeAndre Cortez Way—denied ever hiring her professionally and refuted claims of violence.

Court proceedings revealed text messages allegedly sent by the rapper, containing aggressive language directed at the woman. When confronted with these messages, he acknowledged they were his but stated, “No,” when asked if such language toward women was acceptable. He also firmly denied ever physically harming her, saying, “Never.”

Here’s where it gets unsettling. The plaintiff previously testified that she was allegedly held against her will at Soulja Boy’s Malibu rental property in 2019, where she claims she was deprived of food and personal belongings. “I feared for my life,” she told the court. She also accused him of sexual assault, describing the incident as leaving her “in shock.”

Obviously, Soulja Boy’s legal team has challenged the credibility of her claims, calling them inconsistent and unsupported by evidence. In 2021, the rapper publicly denied the allegations, stating, “I vehemently and unequivocally deny these allegations. I am in contact with my legal team and the appropriate legal action will be taken against these lies.”
