Rapper Xzibit is facing more legal trouble amid his contentious divorce from estranged wife, Krista Joiner. A judge has ordered the 50-year-old rapper and former Pimp My Ride host to stay at least 100 yards away from both Krista and a former employee, Julio Garcia, who alleges Xzibit threatened his life over his involvement in the divorce proceedings.
The Restraining Order and Allegations
According to court documents obtained by In Touch, Julio Garcia, a longtime car washer for Xzibit, filed a petition for a restraining order on February 25. In his filing, Julio claimed that Xzibit threatened to kill him if he testified in Krista’s favor and shared information about Xzibit’s assets.
Julio alleges that, over the years, he became privy to sensitive details about Xzibit’s vehicles, residences, and even his cannabis business operations. He claims that when Xzibit learned of his potential testimony, the rapper issued a direct threat, telling him, “Good luck to you and Krista.”
As a result, Julio requested that Xzibit be ordered to stay away from him, his wife, his daughter, and Krista.
Xzibit Denies Allegations, Claims Coercion
Xzibit has vehemently denied the accusations. Through his attorney, he asserted that he has met his financial obligations and has been wrongly portrayed as neglectful by Krista in an effort to damage his reputation and alienate him from his child.
Further, Xzibit’s legal team fired back at Krista, accusing her of manipulating witnesses and coercing third parties into testifying against him. A letter obtained by In Touch alleges that Krista used intimidation tactics and legal threats, including immigration-related consequences, to secure favorable statements.
While the letter did not explicitly name Julio Garcia as one of the allegedly coerced witnesses, it raises questions about the ongoing legal battle and the tactics being used by both sides.
Divorce Battle Escalates
The restraining order comes as Xzibit and Krista’s divorce continues to heat up. Krista recently accused Xzibit of failing to pay his court-ordered child and spousal support for December 2024, a claim the rapper disputes. The two are preparing for trial, where financial support, asset division, and custody matters will likely take center stage.
As of now, the case remains ongoing, with both sides locked in a bitter and public legal battle.
