Fetty Wap has officially put an end to the rumors surrounding his release from prison, addressing the false claims that surfaced on social media earlier this week.
The speculation began circulating online, with fans believing that the New Jersey rapper had been granted an early release. However, Fetty Wap quickly set the record straight through his Instagram Story, reposting a message from a relative who clarified the situation.
“He’s not out yet. @fettywap1738 free you brother I love you!” the post read.

According to the Bureau of Prisons website, Fetty Wap’s scheduled release date remains March 13, 2027.
The rapper, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, was sentenced to six years in prison in May 2023 after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. Prosecutors argued for a harsher sentence, citing his status as a public figure and alleging that he had used his platform to “glamorize the drug trade.”
Fetty Wap was arrested in October 2021 at New York’s Citi Field, just as he was preparing to perform at the Rolling Loud Festival. Following his arrest, federal authorities seized a significant amount of contraband, including 16 kilograms of cocaine, 2 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl pills, multiple firearms, ammunition, and $1.5 million in cash.
Despite the ongoing speculation, Fetty Wap remains incarcerated, with no confirmed updates regarding any changes to his sentence.
