Nike’s Stealthiest Air Force 1 Is Also Its Cleanest Version Yet

Black Force energy just got super real, as Nike unleashes its highly-anticipated Nike Air Force 1 Low “Vanta Black” sneaker, the label’s darkest Air Force 1 sneaker ever.

Nike’s “Vanta Black” Forces first appeared during a SNKRS preview, which included several forthcoming releases for 2024. Even when displayed next to the “Green Goblin” Flightposites and zippered Air Max Sunders, the stealthiest Forces of the lineup stole the show.

What made the Forces even more interesting was their name, “Vanta Black.”

In 2014, Surrey NanoSystems introduced Vantablack, an ultra-black coating that absorbs 99% of light. Besides being the darkest color in history, art diehards may remember how Vantablack was at the center of an infamous beef involving Anish Kapoor and Stuart Semple.

Additionally, in 2019, BMW released an X6 series dripped out in Vantablack, marking the brand’s first and only vehicle featuring the light-absorbing coating.

It’s unknown if the Nike Air Force 1 sneakers is actually made with Vantablack, and, thus, boasts its absorption properties. If so, maybe summertime isn’t the best time to flex these bad boys.

Regardless, Nike’s newest Forces certainly dresses the part with a polished blackout look, giving the classic Triple Black Forces a run for its money.

Following its preview earlier this year, Nike’s Air Force 1 Low “Vanta Black” arrives right in time for the holidays. As of November 1, the sneakers have already begun to launch overseas. It’s safe to assume the states will follow next.
