A$AP Rocky is so confoundingly stylish that he can wear quite literally the most basic outfit in all of menswear and look more well-dressed than anyone else alive. How does he do it?
The answer is: it’s not all about the clothes. Though, as is typical for Rocky, the clothes are not an afterthought.
Seen on a steamy late July afternoon, Rocky looked a touch irritated as he strolled to a waiting car.
Who can blame him? It’s 90°F and humid every freakin’ day. If going outside doesn’t piss you off, well, my friend, you’ve got issues.
But maybe if we all looked as effortlessly excellent as Rocky, we’d have better reason to keep your chill.
Rocky wore the epitome of a still-steezy off-day outfit: plain black T-shirt, straight-leg blue jeans, and black leather shoes. Up top, minimal jewelry and sporty shield sunglasses.
This is par for Rocky’s stylistic course as of late, as in the days leading up to the release of Don’t Be Dumb, his forthcoming album, Rocky has dressed simply and superbly.
Consider consistently Rocky transforms ordinary warm-weather outfits into enviable flexes by simply dialing in the fit of his clothes to easygoing perfection.
Notice how Rocky’s T-shirt is snug but not tight, a trim fit that falls right below the waistline to create balanced proportions. The jeans, perhaps his signature Bottega Veneta leather pants, are pitch-perfect straight legs, broken in enough to drape but not so huge as to render his legs humongous.
And the crisp leather shoes are simply quintessential A$AP Rocky circa-2024: mature but still game for a little fun. Low-key high-style. Master of his own domain.
That Rocky can go from high-flying fashion show to patiently urbane menswear gawd is a testament to not only a wardrobe filled with versatile essentials but his innate time-tested, Rihanna-approved swagger.
