Another judge just got signed to the YSL RICO label trial- KIDDING! We have to find the humor in a very serious situation facing Jeffery Williams aka Young Thug.
ICYMI, only hours after being assigned, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Shukura Ingram immediately recused herself from the YSL RICO trial. Gone, see ya.
Judge Ingram stepped down citing a serious conflict of interest due to a former deputy in her courtroom, Akeiba Koren Stanley, allegedly having an inappropriate relationship with Christian Eppinger. Eppinger had been separated from Young Thug’s original criminal proceedings on June 8, 2023. Wild. Never ending drama, for sure.

Ingram explained in her recusal statement that Stanley was assigned to her courtroom at the time of the alleged affair.
Now Judge Paige Reese Whitaker has been appointed as the new presiding judge.
Here we go. Another one, yes we said it.
Here’s what trial lawyer Lester Tate, commented on the situation:
”The new judge will have to first get a handle on the case.” He noted that Judge Whitaker will not only need to catch up on the extensive case history but also address potential motions for a mistrial.
Get this, Tate highlighted the challenges of taking over such a significant case, which is the longest in Georgia’s history, especially given the already heavy caseload many judges manage.
“This is a docket buster that’s going on here, so at some point, I think it’s certainly possible that a decision could be made we need a senior judge to come in. When judges retire, they frequently continue to sit and you can get judges from throughout the state to come sit in various venues and this is one that certainly ought to be a consideration, whether it happens or not we’ll see,” said Tate.
