The Exorcist is being rebooted by Blumhouse and Morgan Creek Productions and has found its star in Leslie Odom Jr. The new series will be released in partnership with Universal and Peacock.
The film will also bring in Ellen Burstyn, reprising her role as Chris MacNeil and the trilogy will be directed by David Gordon Green.
With the plans set, the first film in the trilogy is set to arrive in theatres on October 13, 2023.

“There’s no better time to be joining forces with the team at Peacock, reuniting with the great team at Universal and finally getting to work with my friends at Blumhouse, than on this classic franchise,” David Robinson, Morgan Creek president, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
Previous collaborations included Get Out, Split, and The Invisible Man.
