Tory Lanez was arrested on Sunday morning (July 12) following an argument that led to police finding a gun in his car, Billboard can confirm.
According to TMZ, who first reported the news, police responded to a call of a disturbance outside of a Hollywood Hills home, where witnesses said people were arguing in an SUV before shots were fired in the air and the vehicle left the scene.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that Lanez (born Daystar Peterson), 27, was arrested for a felony count of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, but said that no additional information was available on the incident at press time.
According to TMZ, police then tracked down the SUV, and found the rapper in the car with Megan Thee Stallion and another woman. Meg reportedly had a cut on her foot, which led to police searching the car and finding the gun. The LAPD spokesperson said Lanez was released on bail, which was initially set at $35,000; spokespeople for Lanez and Stallion had not returned requests for comment at press time.
