Chloe x Halle score their first Billboard Hot 100 hit this week as “Do It” arrives at No. 83 on the chart dated June 27. The single appears on the duo’s debut studio album, Ungodly Hour, which itself debuts at No. 2 on the Top R&B Albums chart.
“Do It” traces its Hot 100 entrance largely thanks to its 5.9 million U.S. streams registered in the week ending June 18, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The sum prompts a No. 6 start for the song on the R&B Streaming Songs list, where the duo also picks up a No. 11 bow for “Forgive Me.” The latter kicks off with 4.8 million U.S. streams.
Both tracks also make a dent in the sales realm, with “Do It” rebounds 14-10 on R&B Digital Song Sales (2,000 sold in the week ending June 18), while “Forgive Me” enters at No. 7 (2,000 downloads as well).
“Do It” also continues its airplay growth. It climbs 41-37 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart through a 40 percent surge to 3 million in format audience in the week ending June 21. The song secured the first notable radio success for the duo, sisters Chloe Bailey and Halle Bailey. The pair got their musical start posting covers on YouTube, including one of “Pretty Hurts” by Beyoncé, who recruited the siblings for her Parkwood imprint.
In addition to its Hot 100 arrival, “Do It” concurrently debuts at No. 36 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and jumps 14-7 on Hot R&B Songs, a new peak.
As mentioned, the song’s parent album, Ungodly Hour, debuts at No. 2 on the Top R&B Albums chart with 24,000 equivalent album units in the week ending June 18. The set also opens at No. 11 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and at No. 16 on the Billboard 200.
Activity surrounding the album and its songs help Chloe x Halle make their debut on the Billboard Artist 100, landing at No. 42.
