Drake surprise dropped a new mixtape earlier this month and while the first fan reactions were mostly positive, clearly not everyone was loving Dark Lane Demo Tapes. The project just debuted at No.2, ending Drake’s decade-long streak of No.1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
The new mixtape featured guest artists like Future, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, and more, along with a number of previously-leaked hits. In total, the project moved around 223,000 equivalent album units, which wasn’t enough to top Kenny Chesney’s new album, Here and Now, which shifted 233,000.
Drake’s last album Scorpion moved 732,000 units in its first week and topped the charts for so long he tied with Kanye West, Eminem, and The Beatles for the longest streak of No.1 records.
