Eminem is cleaning out his closet for charity. On Wednesday (April 30), he posted a photo of a rare Air Jordan sneakers and a vintage stock X that’s he donating for COVID-19 relief funds.
“Cleanin’ out my closet… donating extra pair of my @jumpman23 @carhartt 4’s along with a vintage T to @stockx. Proceeds go to the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund,” Em wrote.
Proceeds from the initial sale will go towards Eminem’s Marshall Mathers Foundation. These sneakers are only one of 10 pairs created in 2015 by Michael Jordan.
In an interview with Sway in the Morning, Em recalled a phone conversation with MJ about a possible sneaker collaboration. “Everything was good until we get to the end of the phone call, and I said, ‘Yo man, when are you going to come to Detroit so I can dunk on you.’ It was crickets,” Em said. “When I got off the phone, I remember thinking, ‘I don’t think he knew I was joking.'”
Along with his Jordan sneakers donation, earlier this month, Eminem donated 400 meals of Mom’s Spaghetti and delivered them over to Henry Ford Hospital and Detroit Receiving Hospital.
