Tech N9ne’s bone-crushing lyricism remains elite, as displayed in his latest video for “Just Die? (Intro 1).”
Though the Strange Music heavyweight keeps the video relatively simple, his steely wordplay and confidence power the three-minute visual. “Just a thought, excuse me while I get this off/ Tech is lost, read this then accepted naught/ Gave the game this, 20 years of Strange sh-t/ And I still retain this sick language I came with,” scoffs the rap veteran.
Before releasing the video, Tech wrote a lengthy message on Instagram about his struggles internally and how fans shouldn’t be worried about his current state of mind.
“I don’t want you guys to get the impression that I’ve been contemplating hurting myself when listening to this song cause I haven’t been,” he said. “But, I’d be a liar if I said it hasn’t crossed my mind from time to time like I’m sure it does for most of us dealing with shit in life! I’m proud to say I’m pretty stable mentally but even the stable have thoughts sometimes when life seems a bit darkened! Just THOUGHTS though! The strong are entitled to have a breakdown hear and there but we bounce back! STRONGER! So, I hope you guys enjoy this energy cause it comes from a real place! JUST DIE? From me to you!”
“Just Die? (Intro 1)” will reside on his upcoming album EnterFear, set to drop April 17. The 19-track effort will feature his Strange Music signees Krizz Kaliko, King ISO, Jehry Robinson and Mackenzie Nicole.
