Kanye West Is Reportedly Holding His First Presidential Campaign Rally Today

Kanye West may be (really) late to the game, but according to ABC NewsPolitico, and local NBC affiliate WCBD, the rapper is set to hold his first presidential campaign rally on Sunday (July 19) in South Carolina.

According to ABC News and Politico, who both received copies of the release, West announced on Saturday night that he’ll be holding a rally at Charleston’s Exquis Event Center at 5 p.m. ET for “registered guests only.” The release noted that those wishing to attend would need to sign up at Kanye2020.country, as well as sign a COVID-19 liability release form. Masks and social distancing will also be required.

The “Wash Us in the Blood” rapper will also be reportedly holding a press event ahead of the rally.

As of press time, there did not appear to be a link to register for the event on the website, nor is the rally listed on the venue’s website.

Billboard has reached out to the rapper’s reps, as well as Exquis Event Center.

The day before, West tweeted to ask his followers to help get him on the ballot in South Carolina. The rapper, who announced on July 4 that he is running for the Oval Office, is already too late to get on the ballot in numerous states.

The artist, who is setting aside his support for Donald Trump, filed his “Statement of Candidacy” form with the Federal Elections Commission on July 16. And according to the Associated Press, West met the deadline get on the ballot in Oklahoma the same day.

But the rapper’s chances appear to be slim thus far. According to a poll dated July 9, West is polling at only 2 percent, while presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden is at 48 percent, and incumbent Trump at 40 percent.
