J Balvin recently welcomed Architectural Digest into his Colombian home to offer fans a tour. Situated in Llano Grande, Antioquia, the minimalist mansion was designed by Medellín-based design firm, 5 Sólidos.
Balvin refers to the space as his temple, insisting it is not a place to show off, but more so somewhere for his soul to rest. There is no art or memorabilia celebrating his career inside the home, as he insists the house itself is art.
Overall, the mansion is inspired by Japanese design, adhering to the musician’s appreciation for the energy in Japan. Black elements and decor are paired with wood inside the home, as J Balvin claims black is an elegant and powerful color.
Balvin says he sleeps in many different rooms in the house to keep things fresh. The closet in the master bedroom, however, is home to approximately 850 pairs of sneakers. There is no TV in the living room. Instead you will find a plethora of books, as the space encourages relaxation and reflection.
