UGG’s Hybrid Cowboy Boot Is Tall, Chunky & Wild West-Worthy

UGG’s Mini Dipper boot created in collaboration with Yueqi Qi is big, in more ways than one.

The LVMH Prize semi-finalist and leading name among a new crop of Chinese design talent has crafted a left-field hybrid boot that’s made to be seen.

First of all, this shoe is chunky, built with a thick platform sole that elevates the shoe far above the pavement. But it’s also as tall as it is chunky, coming with a long, inverted cowboy boot extension that makes this a knee-high stomper.

Even beyond its physical build, this shoe is big. Statement making big.

Decorated with three-dimensional flowers (a decoration that’s slowly becoming a peculiar sneaker trend), various embroidered motifs, and extra paneling compared to the standard UGG Mini Dipper, Yueqi Qi has given the boot quite the facelift.

First seen as part of the designer’s Spring/Summer 2025 show during Tokyo Fashion Week, this hybrid western boot has now arrived, available on the designer’s website for $429.

In a time when wild high-fashion UGG boots are commonplace (as are hybrid yeehaw-ified sneakers) we’ve become accustomed to seeing strange concoctions.

However, that doesn’t take away from how experimental this shoe truly is.

Yueqi Qi has made an upside-down cowboy boot, a piece of cozy shearling winter wear, and an imposingly bulky silhouette, all packaged in UGG’s typical brown sheepskin. What could be bigger than that?
