The Great “Black Cat” Jordan 4 Returns as a Skate-tastic Sneaker

The Air Jordan 4 RM may be this all-new, skate-ish version of the classic, but it’s still a Jordan 4 sneaker nonetheless. So, it’s only right that the RM receives the same iconic colorways as the AJ4.

Speaking of, “Black Cat” AJ4 RMs, anyone?

The familiar all-black scheme sweeps across the Jordan 4 RM “skate” sneaker, joined by white Jumpman logos and “Nike Air” branding (and that’s Nike Air, not “Bike Air” à la Nigel Sylvester this go-around) but otherwise grounded in tonal charm.

Of course, this Jordan 4 RM colorway maintains all of its classy (and divisive) remastered touches, like its new cushy low-top setup and skate-ready charm, but is wrapped up in one of the most famous (and objectively stylish) Jordan makeups ever.

In his heyday, Michael Jordan went by many nicknames, including “His Airness” and eventually, the more frequently used “GOAT.” Especially during his golden years on the court, though, people called Jordan the “Black Cat” because he moved smoothly and stealthily, almost like a sneaker bald panther planning a sudden attack.

The “Black Cat” moniker has also been linked to a few Jordan sneakers, like the Jordan 3 and Jordan 4 models. Each “Black Cat” Jordan sticks to the same straightforward, albeit rotation-necessary scheme: a tonal black sneaker, accented solely by the occasional contrasting logo or branding. Can’t go wrong with a classic, even when it’s basically an all-new shoe.

The Air Jordan 4 RM continues to rack up pretty impressive colorways (it’s even borrowed the Nike SB x Jordan 4 outfit). Now, it’s slipping into the classic “Black Cat” look, now available at select sneaker stores like Foot Locker.
