The Los Angeles Rams have Super Bowl aspirations this upcoming season. Unfortunately, they will have to do it without their star running back. Cam Akers will miss the entire 2021 season with an injury. Akers suffered a torn Achilles while training recently, according to multiple reports. He will undergo surgery and not play at all this year.
Akers, who was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, rushed for 625 rushing yards on 145 carries with two touchdowns, and added 123 receiving yards on 11 catches, including a touchdown, during his rookie season.
With Akers out for the 2021 campaign, the Rams will turn to Darrell Henderson, their second running back in the backfield tandem from a year ago. The team could look to add a veteran running back as well. Logical and available options could be Adrian Peterson or Levon Bell.
