Patrick Star from Spongebob Squarepants is set to receive his own spinoff series.
The head of Nickelodeon, Brian Robbins describes Spongebob Squarepants as “a mini-Marvel Universe.” It will be effortless to add different perspectives from the favorite characters of Bikini Bottom.
ViacomCBS greenlit 13 episodes of the kid-themed animated series centered around Spongebob’s best friend, Patrick Star.
The Patrick Show is set to debut this Summer and will be centered around a young Patrick who lives with his family and hosts a television show.
Bill Fagerbakke, the longtime voice of the animated pink starfish, will reprise his role.
The show will introduce Patrick’s parents, little sister, and grandfather which you can take a first look at below.
“Nickelodeon is diving deeper into Bikini Bottom to give fans a look at our lovable young adult Patrick Star and his entire family with a sitcom only he could imagine up,” Ramsey Naito, President of Nickelodeon Animation, said in a statement. “This second original spinoff allows us to expand our reach, tell new stories and connect with our audience around the world who continue to love these characters.”
The studio previously announced a Squidward spinoff in 2019, which will reportedly be available on Netflix.
If you grew up watching Spongebob Squarepants then you know that Squidward is a central character but we don’t know too much about him. His grumpy personality serves as an everyday mood when we’re on our way to work.
