‘Degrassi’ Actor Jahmil French Dead At 29

According to several confirmed reports, Jahmil French, an actor who is best known as Dave Turner on Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation, passed away yesterday. He was 29 years old.

The cause of death has yet to be determined.

Dave Turner in Degrassi spinoff The Next Generation from 2009-2013 and was even nominated for a Canadian Screen Award. French also appeared in the silver screen project Boost, to which he was awarded the Canadian Screen Award in 2018.

Several of French’s colleagues and friends from the show paid tribute to the actor on social media.
