SOURCE SPORTS: Eagles Hire Nick Sirianni As Their Next Head Coach

The Philadelphia Eagles have found their next head coach.

Former Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Nick Sirianni has reached an agreement to become the next head coach of the Eagles, ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported.

Sirianni was the OC for the Colts for three seasons from 2018-2020. He worked as an offensive assistant for the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs before that.

Sirianni replaces Doug Pederson, who was fired following a 4-11-1 season, less than three years after he led the team to the franchise’s only Super Bowl title.

Next up for the Eagles is finding a way to settle their starting quarterback position. Carson Wentz was the starting quarterback for most of last season before being benched for rookie quarterback Jalen Hurst. Wentz’s $128 million, four-year contract kicks in this year, making it difficult for the Eagles to trade him.

Sirianni worked with Andrew Luck, Jacoby Brissett, and Philip Rivers in Indianapolis. Getting Wentz to play like his former self will be a tough task but Sirianni is more than qualified to get that job done.
