With the current election cycle looking abysmal, Cardi B has set her sights on the 2024 presidential elections and already has a candidate in mind: AOC.
Cardi B took to Twitter yesterday to throw Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s name in the ring for President when she turns 35 – the required age to run under the Constitution.
Cardi B’s endorsement for AOC – who turns 31 in October – was in response to a video in which the congresswoman danced along to Bardi’s “Bodak Yellow.” In the video, Ocasio-Cortez highlighted the financial burden of healthcare in the USA. She shared that she was gearing up to have braces for the second time after having them as a child, because she couldn’t afford dental care.
“I had to GET ELECTED TO CONGRESS for me to afford dental treatment,” AOC captioned the Instagram story. “This is my first time having health insurance in years, and even THEN it didn’t really cover the cost of this — but it did cover other doc appts so I could more easily save.
“In other words, I got a bag and fixed my teeth,” she continued, quoting Cardi’s “Bodak Yellow,” which was playing in the background.
AOC responded to Cardi’s shoutout and presidential prediction with a tweet of her own. “Women Against Patriarchy” she wrote, referencing the rapper’s latest single “WAP.”
