A Pop Smoke x Dior Collab Could Still Happen

In a new interview with WWD, Pop Smoke‘s manager Steven Victor looked ahead to what he and his team are aiming to accomplish in Pop’s honor in the coming months and years. And a Dior collab could be in the cards.

Victor recalled conversations he had with Pop Smoke about the rapper’s intentions of moving more into the realm of fashion design.

“I would take it in stride super early on and thought let’s focus on the music first and once you’re stable as an artist then let’s dabble,” he said. “He would always talk about fashion. I thought he was just saying it because it was cool for rappers to say. Then over the months I realized he did have his own sense of style.”

Pop’s love for fashion and incredible impact is still palpable through his megahit “Dior.” According to Victor, the 2019 banger could one day lead to a collaboration with the esteemed fashion house. He revealed he is set to meet Dior’s Kim Jones to talk about some level of collaboration.

“You can’t say that Pop didn’t have some sort of influence on Dior, especially in the urban community,” Victor said. “I’m going to see [Dior men’s artistic director Kim Jones] and talk to him about that on some level. Maybe next year for Pop’s birthday.”

The deluxe version of Pop’s posthumous debut album, Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, released earlier this week on July 20 – what would have been his 21st birthday. Now the album, executive produced by 50 Cent, stands at a whopping 34 tracks.
