Over Five Million People Tried to Cop the Dior Jordan 1s

The long-awaited Air Dior collaboration dropped last week. And according to WWD, official stats show that more than five million people entered for a chance to win a pair of the coveted sneakers.

The Air Jordan 1 OG Dior first launched on June 25 at a dedicated microsite where people could enter for a chance to purchase, with the option to register only once for the desired style and size. Users began entering the site at early morning EDT, causing the site to shut down only a few hours later.

One of the most hotly anticipated sneaker collabs of the year, only 8,000 of the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 OG Dior sneakers were available to the public, however, sign up numbers were more than five million. The number is 625 times more people than what was actually available.

The shoes were priced at $2,000 for the low-top version and $2,200 for the high-top model, however, they’re already going for more than five times the retail price on the secondary market.
