Justin Bieber has filed a $20 million lawsuit against two women who alleged on Twitter last week that the pop star sexually assaulted them, TMZ reports. Bieber is claiming the allegations are “outrageous lies.”
On June 20, a woman identified as Danielle shared a lengthy statement to Twitter (from an account that has since been removed). In it, she detailed an alleged sexual assault between herself and the singer that occurred in March, 2014. A second woman, identified as Kadi, tweeted another account of alleged sexual assault by Bieber that she claims occurred in May, 2015 in New York.
In a series of tweets, Bieber responded with numerous receipts and photos, showing his alleged whereabouts to prove that the claims of sexual assault are “factually impossible.” He also stated that he will be “working with twitter and authorities to take legal action.”
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Bieber insists he has “indisputable documentary evidence” to prove their allegations are nothing but “outrageous, fabricated lies.”
The suit claims that both allegers “fraudulently schemed to seek attention and fame by maliciously posting despicable, blatantly false, fabricated, defamatory accusations that Justin Bieber engaged in sexual assault … It is abundantly clear that these two individuals are trying to capitalize on the climate of fear permeating the entertainment industry.”
Bieber is suing Danielle and Kadi for defamation for $10 million each, making a total of $20 million in damages.
