That Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole Joint Album "Might Still Happen"

TDE president Terrence “Punch” Henderson just resurrected our hopes of a joint Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole album.

Hopeful rumors of a Cole-Lamar project have been swirling for years now. In an exchange with a fan on Twitter yesterday, the TDE boss at first shut these down, before offering a tentative maybe.

After Punch announced his plans to release all his records on a streaming platform, one fan hit him up to ask about a possible collaborative album between the reclusive rappers. The TDE president swiftly shut down the request, writing, “That’s never going to happen.”

However, after steam picked up around his statement, Punch gave in, saying he had put a good word in with the artists. “I think it would [be] great for hip hop. I did my part though. I spoke to both of them.” In another tweet, he offered some more hope: “I don’t know. It might still happen. I want it to happen.”

While, we have to admit, it’s a long shot, all hip-hop fans can agree a joint record between the two GOATS of rap would be a guaranteed hit. Here’s to hoping Punch can convince Kendrick and Cole to cook something up.
