Kid Cudi Gets Billboard No 1 for “The Scotts” with Travis Scott

Travis Scott and Kid Cudi‘s hit “The Scotts” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard chart. It’s the first time Cudi has reached the top spot.

Cudi peaked at No.3 in 2009 with “Day ‘N’ Nite,” but joining forces with Scott helped him reach the pinnacle this week. The duo even managed to knock The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” from first place, which is approaching its 25th week on the chart.

“The Scotts,” which debuted during La Flame’s Astronomical Fortnite concert, entered the global Spotify chart at #1 with 7.45 million streams and has since racked up 42.2 million U.S. streams and sold 67,000 digital downloads in its first week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The Scotts” also broke two major records: Not only did it overtake Billie Eilish’s “No Time to Die” to land the biggest global Spotify streaming debut of the year, but 12.3 million concurrent players also participated in the in-game concert, breaking Fornite‘s record.

It’s Scott’s third time on top of the Billboard chart. He reached number one with “Sicko Mode” in 2018 and “Highest In The Room” last year.
