We are all living in Joe Exotic’s world now. Whether you’ve binged Netflix’s can’t-look-away docuseries about big cat breeders or not, surely your mom and dad have asked you at least five times how they can watch Tiger King on their iPad 3. And if you’re not busy trying to figure out if Joe really did try to have Carole killed, surely you’ve taken a breather to watch some of the many excellent dancers taking on the viral #SavageChallenge.
Now, like two irresistible memes that taste great together, an intrepid user has mashed up the two into a cat dance that “Savage” rapper Megan Thee Stallion can’t resist. “Hot boy Tiger King,” the down-and-dirty MC posted Sunday night of the clip, in which a person in Joe drag — complete with manicured mustache, trucker hat and daringly unbuttoned shirt — pulls off the hip-swaying, shimmying dance challenge to perfection.
Last week, the #SavageChallenge generated a top 10 debut on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and top 20 showing on the Billboard Hot 100 for its namesake song. “Savage” entered at No. 9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart dated April 4, to give the Houston rapper her second top 10 start. She previously opened at No. 7 with “Hot Girl Summer,” a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, in August.
Stallion has been sharing videos of famous pals and fans alike doing the choreography to the song, dubbing Justin and Hailey Bieber “HotGirl Hailey and Hotboy Justin” for their goofy take on the challenge. She also cheekily wrote, “so you really ain’t invite me over…wow” on former Fifth Harmony member Normani‘s video.
