Megan Thee Stallion is done covering for Tory Lanez. The “Savage” rapper revealed on Instagram Live last night that Lanez was in fact the one who shot her during the incident that led to his arrest for carrying a concealed weapon on July 12.
Just before hopping on IG Live, Meg took to Twitter to offer one final warning. “Lie one more time and ima quit sparing you,” she said.
Without any further delay, she then began explaining what took place on the night of July 12.
“Y’all hoes so worried ’bout it. Yes, this n**** Tory shot me,” Megan confirmed. “You shot me. And you got your publicist and your people going to these blogs lying and shit. Stop lying. Why lie? I don’t understand. I tried to keep the situation off the internet, but you dragging it. You really fuckin’ dragging it. Muthafuckas talkin’ ‘bout I hit this n****. I never hit you. Muthafuckas was like, ‘Oh she mad ’cause he was tryna fuck with Kylie.’ No I wasn’t. You dry shot me.”
It wasn’t just Megan and Tory riding together on the night of the incident. She disclosed that there were two others in the car.
“Everybody in the car…it’s only four muthafuckas in the car. Me, you, my homegirl and yo security,” she continued. “Everybody in the car arguing. I’m in the front seat, this n**** in the backseat. I get out the car, I’m done arguing. I don’t wanna argue no more. I get out. I’m walking away. This n****, from out the backseat of the car, start shooting me. You shot me. I ain’t get cut by no glass.”
The question still remained as to why Meg didn’t tell the police about the gunshot upon their arrival. She provided the answer saying, “’Cause the people in the neighborhood…there’s a witness. When the police came because the neighbors called the police. This did not happen at Kylie’s house. This happened damn near back at the house I was staying at. I was just tryna get home. I was five minutes away from my spot. The police come. I’m scared.”
“All this shit going on with the police. The police is shooting muthafuckas for anything,” she continued. “The police was literally killing Black people for no muthafuckin’ reason. Soon as the police tell us all get out the muthafuckin’ car, the police is really aggressive. You think I’m ’bout to tell the police that we, n*****, us Black people, got a gun in the car? You want me to tell the laws that we got a gun in the car, so they can shoot all of us up? N****, I’m scared. It’s a fuckin’ helicopter over us and some mo shit. Why the fuck would I tell the laws somebody got a gun in the car and this n**** shot me? So I can get shot, you can get shot, she can get shot?.”

Following the July 12 incident, social media was flooded with shooting memes making light of Megan Thee Stallion’s injury and the situation in general, further magnifying just how unprotected Black women are.
When friend and fellow musician Kehlani got wind of Lanez’s actions, she responded by removing Tory’s verse from a song called “Can I” from her upcoming deluxe album.
“Full transparency cuz i believe in that with my following, his verse is still on the song, the video is solo. new verse on the deluxe,” she tweeted.
Kehlani then spoke about the decision during an interview with Chicago radio station WGCI.
“As someone with a large platform, as someone that people look up to, as a woman that makes other women feel safe and empowered, people were asking me, ‘Are you gonna keep somebody on it who doesn’t necessarily make us feel safe or empowered as a woman?’,” she said.
“This situation was involving someone that I [am] extremely close to, so I just felt like on some loyal shit, and on some do the right thing, you have to be responsible,” she went on to add. “Absolutely I’m changing up the record. It was business and it was also loyalty to a situation. This is not an industry friendship. That’s really my friend and someone I say I love you to.”
Now, more than ever, abusive men must be held accountable for their actions. For far too long, the music industry has dragged its feet and continually overlooked abuse allegations, specifically when it pertains to hip-hop artists.
As with R. Kelly, Chris Brown, Fabolous, Nas, Russell Simmons, and many others, Tory Lanez must answer for his actions, whiles fans should simultaneously reconsider their support in light of such deplorable behavior.
