Doja Cat 'Couldn't Taste Bacon' While Sick With COVID-19

Doja Cat is sharing her experience with COVID-19 with her fans. In a series of early morning tweets Wednesday (July 29), the rapper answered questions about some of the symptoms she experienced.

The rapper, who revealed on July 24 that she had tested positive, started by responding to one fan to say she didn’t have the coronavirus anymore. As for the various symptoms she experienced while sick?

“I couldn’t taste bacon and my legs hurt,” she shared, also noting that she did not have any respiratory issues. The loss of smell and taste as well as leg pain have been reported as a symptom of COVID-19.

Another symptom is a fever, which the “Say So” rapper shared she had for two days.

One fan asked whether the artist was “scared” of the coronavirus now that she’s had it. “Never was,” Doja Cat responded. “Thats why I got it in the first place.”

Prior to revealing that she had contracted the virus, the rapper posted a video about the global health crisis to Instagram in March. “B—h, I’m not scared of the coronavirus,” she said at that time. “It’s a flu.”

As the virus has continued its spread around the country, local government officials have advised sheltering place, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing. Some governors have also instituted mandates requiring facial covers while people are in public and unable to social distance.

According to the CDC, there have been more than 4 million confirmed cases in the United States, and nearly 150,000 deaths from the coronavirus. The World Health Organization reports that there have been more than 16 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 around the world, and more than 656,000 deaths as of press time.
