Check Out the Nominees For 2020 Ivor Novello Awards

The nominations for the 2020 Ivor Novello songwriting awards are out, with Nick Cave, Storzmy, Kate Tempest and Little Simz leading the pack. The prestigious UK honor that recognizes the best songwriting of the year includes four double nominees, Tempest and producer Dan Carey for her album The Book of Traps and Lessons, producer/songwriter Jimmy Napes (for his work on Stormzy’s “Crown” and Sam Smith/Normani’s “Dancing With a Stranger”), as well as Jamie Hartman (Calvin Harris/Rag ‘n’ Bone Man’s “Giant” and Lewis Capaldi’s “Hole Me While You Wait.”)

This year’s event will also feature the new Rising Star Award with Apple Music, with nods for Amahla, Carmel Smickersgill, Griff, lullahush and Mysie. The best contemporary song race will pit Dave (“Black”), against Tempest (“Firesmoke”) and J Hus’ (“Must Be”).
