Watch Post Malone's Full Nirvana Tribute Livestream With Travis Barker on Drums

Post Malone has Kurt Cobain‘s face tattooed on his finger, Nirvana‘s “Stay Away” song title tattooed above his eyebrow, and a Courtney Love stamp of approval for his tribute livestream concert set, which went down on Friday night (April 24).

The 24-year-old artist brought back the Seattle grunge band’s fan favorites and beloved hits right from his home while streaming the set on his YouTube channel. (While he didn’t do his notorious cover of “All Apologies,” which he performed at Boston’s House of Blues in 2017, there were plenty of other goodies.)

Blink-182’s Travis Barker was the surprise guest drummer, along with guitarist Nick Mac and bassist Brian Lee. “Heart-Shaped Box,” “Lithium” and “Come As You Are” all made the setlist.

The gig also served as a benefit concert. The video description reads, “This event will raise funds for The United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization (WHO) in support of COVID-19 relief efforts. Fans will be able to make donations to the UN Foundation in real time during the livestream event by using the “DONATE” button on the bottom or right hand side of the screen. Google.org will be matching all donations at a 2:1 rate, up to $5M, with all proceeds going to the UN Foundation.”

Love also showed her affection and gave her blessing to Malone for hosting the event. The Hole frontwoman also thanked her late husband “mighty kc for writing these songs with your elegant and monkeyed hands that the kids still want to sing and play and hear and use to fight and hunt and cure and heal and eradicate this f—ing covid19 virus,” she wrote Thursday on Instagram.
