Pop Smoke Documentary Confirmed on the Way

An upcoming Pop Smoke documentary has been confirmed by Steven Victor, the rapper’s former manager. Victor recently spoke with Complex to announce the project, as he also touched on a posthumous Pop Smoke album.

“I’m working really, really hard on this Pop Smoke album,” he said. “And I’m working on a documentary for him, too. And his foundation. I’m just really focused on making this label like the next Jimmy Iovine and Interscope.”

Pop Smoke himself had mentioned a documentary roughly two weeks before his death in February of this year.

“I’m gonna put out a movie or a documentary,” he told Complex. “I’m gonna make that shit about me. Walk ’em through where I used to live, where I used to be at, and why they look at me the way they look. I’m gonna show you why they don’t like that—what they don’t like.”

“Let’s see if you have the same feedback that they have,” he continued. “Let’s see if you would want me to be banned and want me to not perform. I doubt you will. All this good music being recorded, and you want to put it on hold? You don’t want people to hear it?”

Prior to news of the documentary, 50 Cent announced that he’s working on a posthumous Pop Smoke album. 50 revealed plans to executive produce the project, as he has reached out to Roddy Rich and Drake, among others, for involvement.
