Lizzo Is Treating Hospital Staffers Across the Country With Lunch For Working Overtime

Lizzo thanked medical staffers for working to combat coronavirus by donating lunches to several hospitals across the United States, Billboard can confirm.

The “Good As Hell” singer posted a montage video on Instagram yesterday (March 30) that documented medical workers at the University of Washington Medicine Center Montlake Emergency Department, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and more posing with their delivered meals.

“S/O to our heroes,” she captioned the post, along with a donation link to the World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

The Detroit-born hitmaker also donated meals to Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Mich. “You guys are putting yourselves on the frontline, so because of that, I wanted to treat y’all to a meal…. Lunch on me! I love you guys. Thank you so much for being the heroes in this story,” she said in the personalized video message the hospital’s Twitter account posted yesterday.

M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center also thanked the 31-year-old hitmaker, who lived in Minneapolis, Minn. for many years. “That moment when you’re working the ER and @Lizzo surprises you by sending over some lunch!” the facility’s account tweeted yesterday.

According to her Atlantic Records rep, the goodness in her isn’t giving up just yet, as Lizzo plans on sending meals to more hospitals.
